The paper on Hayai-Annotation Plants in Bioinformatics journal received a letter, which suggested a criticism regarding the inadequacy of the accuracy assessment methodology. We earnestly addressed this concern by submitting a re-evaluation result using the area under the precision-recall curve (AUC-PR). However, our reply was rejected without specific feedback on the revaluation results, and the original paper was unilaterally retracted by the journal.

We therefore published the results of re-evaluation of Hayai-Annotation Plants on Biorxiv. In this paper, the results of evaluation using the critical assessment of functional annotation (CAFA) metrics was described in addition to the AUC-PR-based assessment.
